Corteney and Michael’s Winter Adventure Engagement Session at Roan Mountain was so much fun! Even though it was cold on the mountain, the wind was surprisingly calm. There was virtually no wind chill, and that makes a huge difference when you are on the top of these mountain balds at 5800 feet elevation.
As we made our way up the mountain there were some really cool aspects that stood out to me. First off, there was more ice on the trail than I have ever seen! Some areas were more than three inches thick. It must have been thawing and refreezing over and over to get to that thickness.
Second, on the balds, the snow was not too deep, but there was a really cool wind-blown effect on all of the plants. All of the blades of grass and plants had about an inch of snow/ice attached to them on one side. So clearly the wind had been so strong up there recently, but for our shooting time at least, it was perfect.
All in all, we had fun and created a really unique engagement session gallery for Corteney and Michael. As always, I will never say no to shooting an Adventure Engagement Session at Roan Mountain!

| Michael really wanted to go get coffee but it was super late (9pm) and so we changed our plans and went to the movies instead. During the movies I actually ended up falling asleep. I am still notorious for falling asleep during a movie |

| We really fell in love when we first saw each other but was too nervous to tell each other how we felt. Apparently it was very obvious to our friends around us. |

| Michael and I took a trip to California in August of 2021. We had a dinner date at a restaurant and after the dinner Michael drove us to a overlook view of the Golden Gate Bridge and he proposed at sunset |
