Last week I had the pleasure of shooting Angel and Jordy’s Smoky Mountain Elopement! They came with their family all the way from Louisianna to the beautiful mountains of Tennessee. Angel and Jordy made it so easy on me because they were up for anything. More or less, they turned over creative flow to me and let me do my thing. As a creative and artist, I appreciate that :).
I met up with them on Wednesday (the day before the elopement) and did a sunrise Adventure Session in the Elkmont area of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I love shooting in there because not only do you get the full natural “Smoky Mountain Feel,” but you get the sense of being surrounded by history, and I just enjoy that aspect.
The following day, I met them at the cabin their families had rented at the Preserve Resort just outside of Pigeon Forge, TN. Despite the rain threatening us a bit, we were able to get every photo we wanted and then some! It ended up being a beautiful evening, and as Angel said, she got her Smoky Mountain “Smoke” for her wedding. | We totally would if we could remember! We started talking and getting to know each other again right before COVID hit so that made being able to go out and “date” difficult. Neither of us cook so we would both find ourselves at Jordy’s parent’s house looking for food during this time. Because of this we actually ended up spending a lot of time together, more so than we would have if we had done the regular dating thing. |
